Bridging the Past and Engineering the Future
GMA Senior, Dayvon Robinson have been accepted to several Major Division I & II Colleges such as The University of Toledo,OH, The University of Akron,OH and Wagner College of New York just to name a few. On April 4th, Dayvon Robinson made his decision between Wagner College where he received a Academic Alumni Award Scholarship of $40,000.00 to attend or to attend The University of Akron where he was accepted and upon his acceptance, he was also accepted into their School of Engineering at Akron where he received a $ 30,000.00 Merit Scholarship in the Study of Corrosion Engineering. Also, he received The Anton Scholarship ( Underrepresented Groups in Engineering) and was also accepted into (The Emerging Leaders Honors Program) at The University of Akron where he will be attending in the Fall of 2017. Since then, Dayvon Robinson has been Nominated for ( The 42nd Annual Passaic County Chapter Of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner) on April 26th at The Mountainside Inn in Clifton, NJ. He will also play in ( The Prestigious 39th Annual Phil Simms New Jersey North-South All-Star Football Classic Game ) on June 26thth 2017 at Kean College of New Jersey. Congratulation Dayvon from your GMA family!
Important Senior Information
1. Senior pictures at the NJCDC "Rodgers Center"-32 Spruce Street (Driveway next to Burger King, up past playground, left to the Rodgers Center. 2nd Floor) List with date and time are listed below. These are the only dates available. If you do not appear for your appointment, you will not appear in the yearbook.
2. Cap & Gown-See Mr. McGinley to be measured for your Cap & Gown
3. Yearbook- If you want a baby picture to appear in the yearbook, you must send a digital copy of the picture to mmcginley@Paterson.k12.nj.us or epollina@Paterson.k12.nj.us (Do not bring in the actual picture. We do not want to be responsible for damaged or lost photos).
4. Prom information:
The date is May 25, 2017
The prom bids are $100 per person.
The venue is The Bethwood in Totowa
The food is a buffet style (Menu still needs to be selected)
All students should see Ms.Speer for payment. (Do not interrupt her classes)
5. If you will not be participating in the Graduation Ceremony, please let me know as soon as possible.
Senior Picture appointments-(Young men must bring a white shirt and tie of choice. 2nd photo with appropriate dress can be taken. (This will be at the discretion of the adults on site). Students previously listed all attended their appointments. If listed below, students did not show for their appointment, and their senior picture will not appear in the yearbook.

Congratulations GMA student D.W.
In June, student D.Whyte; rising Junior; represented Garrett Morgan Academy of Transportation & Engineering, and the State of New Jersey at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts. She was presented with an official "Award of Excellence", certifying her successful completion of the Congress.
At the Congress, she was surrounded by fellow students who share her passion, ability and potential, and she was personally taught by some of the greatest living minds in medicine.
D’s Garrett Morgan family is proud of her accomplishment, and wishes her continued success.

Sample sizes are available at GMA. The shirts will be available in Adult unisex sizes from small to 4x.
Shirts size Small to XLarge is $15.00, and shirts 2X to 4X are $18.00 dollars per shirt.
If you would like to place an order, please fill-in an order form with the size of the shirt(s) you would like to order. Please include your child's name and other information required on the form. Payment is in cash only . A receipt will be provided. Navy Blue GMA Logo Polo shirts previously purchased from Kid's palace can continue to be worn, but we require the new logo on future purchases. There are stores selling unofficial Uniform Shirts w/out the schools permission.
The "Senior" polo for Garrett Morgan Academy will be "Black" with the same logo as the regular Navy GMA polo.
All students will be wearing khaki pants, that means NO black jeans, sweats, yoga pants, etc... Once again, All students will be wearing khaki pants! (Mr. M. McGinley, Principal)
