Supply list for Ms. Lian's Classes

Below is the list of materials needed if you are enrolled in Ms. Lian's English 1, Strategic Reading, or SAT Prep classes:

Welcome to Garrett Morgan Academy! I am very excited to meet you and begin our journey together. Below you will find our class supplies list. Make sure you have these materials by September 7th to ensure you are prepared for instruction. I look forward to working with you and having a productive academic year.

Per class:

  • 1 binder (1 inch or 1 ½ inch)
  • Lined loose leaf paper
  • Pens (black or blue)
  • 1 pack of index cards

Uniform Shirt Information-8-11-17

Garrett Morgan Academy Uniform Shirts are available at:

United School Uniforms 301 Main Street (Center City Mall-B-104), Paterson, NJ 973 341-7622 

Check their website for the hours they are open.

Navy Blue Polo shirts with the GMA Logo are the only official uniform shirt. (Bootleg t-shirts, etc... with GMA logos are not the school uniform.)

All students will be wearing khaki pants, that means NO black jeans, sweats, yoga pants, etc... Once again, All students will be wearing khaki pants! Please refer to the student handbook posted on this website for further information concerning the uniform policy.  (Mr. M. McGinley, Principal)

All students must be in the approved uniform on the first day of school, which is Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 7:30am.

Bridging the Past and Engineering the Future

GMA Senior, Dayvon Robinson have been accepted to several Major Division I & II Colleges such as The University of Toledo,OH, The University of Akron,OH and Wagner College of New York just to name a few. On April 4th, Dayvon Robinson made his decision between Wagner College where he received a Academic Alumni Award Scholarship of $40,000.00 to attend or to attend The University of Akron where he was accepted and upon his acceptance, he was also accepted into their School of Engineering at Akron where he received a $ 30,000.00 Merit Scholarship in the Study of Corrosion Engineering. Also, he received The Anton Scholarship ( Underrepresented Groups in Engineering) and was also accepted into (The Emerging Leaders Honors Program) at The University of Akron where he will be attending in the Fall of 2017. Since then, Dayvon Robinson has been Nominated for ( The 42nd Annual Passaic County Chapter Of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner) on April 26th at The Mountainside Inn in Clifton, NJ. He will also play in ( The Prestigious 39th Annual Phil Simms New Jersey North-South All-Star Football Classic Game ) on June 26thth 2017 at Kean College of New Jersey. Congratulation Dayvon from your GMA family!

Congratulations GMA student D.W.

In June of 2016, student D.Whyte; rising Junior; represented Garrett Morgan Academy of Transportation & Engineering, and the State of New Jersey at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts. She was presented with an official "Award of Excellence", certifying her successful completion of the Congress.

At the Congress, she was surrounded by fellow students who share her passion, ability and potential, and she was personally taught by some of the greatest living minds in medicine.

D’s Garrett Morgan family is proud of her accomplishment, and wishes her continued success.
